We spent two weeks following the NC500, the famous Highland route is said to be around 516 miles. We didn’t rush it. We booked campsites along the way, stayed mostly for one night at a time, and picked three places where we could slow down for two nights. That balance worked perfectly for us. We had the freedom of the open road, but still got proper breaks, showers, plug-ins, and time to breathe and taken in the places we have already seen.
